Building Regulations Approval Process
Once we have carried out an initial appraisal of your proposals, we will send an application form and fees agreement for you to sign and return.
Upon receipt, we will serve an Initial Notice on the relevant Local Authority, telling them that we will be dealing with the project.
We will check your plans and any calculations, site investigation reports etc. And send a report to the designer/agent, highlighting any parts of the design that need amendment or further information adding to show that the Building Regulations 2010 will be complied with.
We will carry out any necessary statutory consultations with the Fire, Water and Local Authorities.
We will advise you of the stages of work we will need to inspect.
In addition, we will use our experience to advise the builder of any parts of the work we commonly find problematic, together with any minor issues we have chosen not to include in the Plan Check Report.
Once the plans comply fully with the Regulations, you can request a Plans Certificate confirming this.
Your builder should contact us at commencement of work to arrange the initial inspection.
Any work found to contravene the Regulations will be notified to the builder and designer (and client if required)Building Regulations
